About Me
Born north of London, England, in 1965 to working-class immigrant Irish parents, I became the first in my family to attend university, earning a BA in History from the University of Sussex in 1987 with a full scholarship, and later earned an MBA from the University of Houston, Texas, in 1996, self-funding my graduate studies.
Eighteen years ago, I moved to Rochester, NY. After spending 12 years in the corporate world, I felt drawn to a more meaningful path. That call led me to retrain as a New York State Licensed Massage Therapist and create my own practice.

What Makes Me Stand Out
- I've received regular massage therapy for over 35 years across eight countries, three continents, and multiple US states, giving me a broad perspective beyond New York.
- For over 15 years, I've provided massage therapy at 728 South Avenue, South Wedge.
- Supporting the LGBT+ community and local charities is important to me. I have consistently made donations of massage and/or direct financial contributions over the past 15 years.
- I live in the South Wedge with my partner of 23 years and husband Michael, who teaches in the Rochester City School District.
- I bank at our credit union, Genesee Federal Co-op.
- I've served as Treasurer and Board Member of the Rochester Gay Men's Chorus (2014–2016) and sang in multiple chorus performances.
- I'm an advocate for open access to massage therapy—health insurance should cover, massage therapy is a form of healthcare.
- I graduated from the Onondaga School of Therapeutic Massage in June 2008.
- I completed Level 1 ASL for Medical Professionals at the University of Rochester Deaf Wellness Center. My ASL is limited but functional, and Renewing-Massage is a positive and affirming space that supports the Deaf community.
- I've been an out gay man for over 40 years, and I'm passionate about equal treatment for all people. I believe professional massage therapy can be valuable and helpful for everyone (where medically appropriate) including LGBT+ individuals, offering therapeutic, non-sexual touch that helps reduce stress and promotes overall well-being
